Four of these black urethane liners mount in the lift arm to protect the ball and help it transfer to the track rails. Though originally the same part as the Spotting Cup Liner, materials have been specialized for these two applications. If it's necessary to install these with the lift arm in the machine, some mechanics prefer to hit the flat side with a ball peen hammer to knock the pull tabs into their holes.
